Bengals Make History!

2009 November 22

The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers for the second time this season and made 2009 the first time in the history of the franchise that the Bengals have beaten the Steelers and Ravens twice in the regular season.

The Cardiac Cats are 7-2 after beating the Steelers 18-12 last Sunday.  Some people feel the Bengals got lucky when Cincinnati beat the Steelers in their first battle this season, but in the second game WE BEAT THEM!

The defense held the Steelers to ZERO touchdowns!  The Steelers offense won the last Super Bowl and the Bengals defense held them to 12 points and no touchdowns.  The defensive pressure was strong on Ben Roethlisberger.  The Bengals defensive backs were awesome, keeping Roethlisberger from getting into a rhythm.  The linebackers clobbered Pittsburgh’s running backs no matter where they tried to run the ball.

Carson . . . Carson . . . Carson . . . What can I say.  Palmer managed the game against a very tough defense.  He led a critical 10 play, clock eating drive at the end of the game that guaranteed the win and kept the ball out of the hands of Roethlisberger.  The Steelers defense could barely touch Palmer thanks to his amazing offense line.  The O-lin kept their splits and blocked great!

Bernard Scott had a great game.  He stepped up when Cedric Benson got hurt and handled the Steelers defense.  Scott found creases that I didn’t even see on TV.

The Bengals made a smart move by signing Larry Johnson.  He’s a low-cost answer to Benson’s injury.

The Bengals SHOULD definitely win the next three against the Oakland Raiders, the Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs.
